Manicanparty - "Rebels in the Light"

Music: Indie

Regardless if you love or hate indie music, this track is for you. The duo from New York; Manicanparty just released their first track off their Soundcloud called "Rebels in the Light" and it is amazing. I see big things coming from Jess Corazza and Pat Morrissey, and would love to see more tracks like this. You can also hear Manicanparty featured on OnCue's track "Cigarettes and Perfume".

So check out this track (grab the free download) and let us know what you think. If you want to learn more about the group and keep up-to-date with Manicanparty then follow their Twitter account. Enjoy.

"I'll Be Alright" - Passion Pit

Music:

Typically, we do not like posting music that you cannot download for the justification that we want our readers to take something with them when they are not sitting at their computers. But for this post we are willing to bend our own rules.

Today the Boston based band; Passion Pit released their second track off their upcoming sophomore album Gossamer which is set to be released July 24th. A month ago the group released "Take a Walk" which I cannot keep off repeat for its catchy melody and lyrics. However, after hearing their new track "I'll Be Alright" I can assure you that this song will be on everyone's list for top 5 tracks for the summer.

"I'll Be Alright" is packed with structured clutter and energy that makes this song unique and bold. The abundance of synths had me hooked instantly.

Last summer the standout album was easily Torches by Foster The People, and I am have a good feeling that this summer the top album will be Gossmaer by Passion Pit. So enjoy what we have for you today and go out and support Passion Pit on July 24th with their album Gossamer. Enjoy!

Tenacious D Is At It Again With a New Single "Rise of The Fenix"

Music: Humor:

Tenacious D is at it again with the release of their new single "Rise of the Fenix", the duo that has not released any new music since their movie "The Pick of Destiny" back in 2006. But today they released their newest track "Rise of the Fenix" (and yes that is Fenix, not Phoenix....Classic Tenacious D). I must say that I have always thought that Jack Black and Kyle Gass were very talented musicians even if they come off as a joke. Just listen to their new track and listen to how talented they are...even the break in the song (when they are singing about tattoos) is legit.

So now that I tried to convince you all that Tenacious D is a legit band (and I hope you agree after listen to their song). We can now start talking about the comedy aspect of the group. The lyrics in this song have me laughing out loud in the library. "Phil Jackson is the master of Zen" "They'll have to Laser off the D Tattoo". HILARIOUS

"Rise of The Fenix" - Tenacious D

To also promote their new single, the duo created a hilarious video that explains their story from the time of their last album to now. I thought this was a legit E! report but you will see, I mean what do you expect from two comedians.

I am serious, you WANT to watch this video!

Lastly be sure to purchase their new album when it is released April 15th. You can pre-order the album Here

Mike Goode with a "Goode" Short Film

Music: Humor: Life:

This here is sure to put everyone in a sure "Goode" mood. I watched this video today by Mike Goode, and I personally think is just an all around good short flick. Sometimes you just got to make your own destinies come true, and then other times your destinies come straight to you. Here is a little blurb about Mike Goode taken from his site:

"Mike Goode began his career as a feature and commercial storyboard artist. He gained a reputation for creative collaboration while working for directors such as Barry Levinson, Doug Liman, and F. Gary Gray. During this time, he attended USC and Art Center College of Design majoring in directing and cinematography.
he received an Emmy Nomination for designing and directing the opening title sequence for Disney’s signature television program “The Wonderful World of Disney” and in 2008 directed “Love Tap”, the first short film for Walt Disney Pictures Short Films division."

What made me love this video even more was the music playing in the background. Just a great catchy track by Andrew Maury "Good Day" (remix) Sorry guys for now we cannot provide a download link. If we can find one then I will definitively post it for you all. Andrew Maury is also a member of the group RAC click the link to learn more about the band. Also "Like" Their Facebook page and show some support. Enjoy!

Bon Iver "Towers" Official Music Video

Music:

With one of the most awkward Grammy Award winning speeches (in my own opinion) Bon Iver releases his new music video to his amazing song "Towers". There is something about this song that just puts me in a great mood. It is simply simple, and such a great song. The video is pleasant to watch as well, in my own interpretative, the video is about a fisherman (Played by Bon Iver) making his trek to the ocean (Journey through life), rummaging though the dense forest (uphill battles in life); he finally makes it to sea (Old age Peace). Once he finally meets his destination he finds that he has had a long and suitable life and knows that it is his time to go (Boom...He dead) But hey, who am I to tell you about what this video is about. Come up with your own interpretative or simply just enjoy.

I can not see how anyone could not enjoy this song!

New Up and Coming Band - Alabama Shakes

Just came across this incredibly talented group called Alabama Shakes, where they are coming up fast. The lead singer has some serious blues and it is amazing just to see the passion and vocals come out of her. I am seriously keeping an eye on this group for sure, granted they are slightly out of my category of music I am really digging it.

I feel like this is what the music world has lost from artists in the 60's, 70's and 80's I really want to see more of this.

If you liked what you listened to and saw they are coming out with an album in the near future. I will keep you posted if you only ask. Thanks guys.
